Friendly staff. Great coffee. My favorite local spot.

This is the best coffee shop that nobody seems to know about, a real hidden gem. The guys behind the counter are always friendly, service is some of the quickest I have ever had, and the coffee is incredible. Shoutout to Doug for taking the time to explain the differences between some of the drinks!

Homey atmosphere with friendly staff. The espresso used makes for a very smooth drink. No need to fake my love for coffee at this place.

We knew Jake and Trevor when they were just getting started at their old jobs. It's really cool to see them start their own shop. They make a great cup of coffee and they're really friendly guys. Make sure when you come to ask Trevor about his coffee college!

I'm not a big coffee drinker, but the tea I tried was fantastic! Any questions I had about it or the coffee was met with answers. They really know their stuff!

What a nice surprise! Just came in for hopefully a good cup a coffee, just drip, and am blown away by the El Salvador beans they’re rocking. Super tasty. I’m usually an Ethiopian fan, but this was very nice and smooth. My daughter also said that the chia was one of the best she’s ever had. Just needs a wider selection of milk alternatives, but the oat milk they had complemented the coffee very nicely. Great job guys!!! Got yourselves a hidden gem ;)

Pet friendly. Very warm and welcoming staff. EXCELLENT latte with honey simple syrup. The pastries they get are also top notch.

Very nice to have this friendly place on our side of town. I've had Messenger coffee elsewhere in downtown Independence, but fresh ground Ethiopian sourced beans brewed while I wait in a pour over, for this price, is fun, delicious and not found otherwise in our area. Very happy.

I heard about this coffee shop opening up in Englewood and was extremely excited. I finally made it out today and am disappointed in the fact that I didn't come sooner!! I spent a good hour chatting with the owners on and off as people came in and out. This shop has an amazing feeling and vibe! The coffee was extremely good as well. I will be back for sure. Hopefully sooner than later.

Extremely pleasant atmosphere with live entertainment and local art displays. Specialty coffee at an affordable price. Jake and Trevor are wonderful baristas with a wealth of coffee knowledge. Stop in and grab an espresso or a cortado and maybe a pastry - you will not regret it!

If you are a fan of well crafted espresso drinks with microfoam, Inkwell is for you. If you love unpretentious iced caramel lattes, Inkwell is for you. If you want the pour over experience, Inkwell is for you. If you adore Chai drinks, Inkwell is for you. If want good, hot coffee, fast and cheap, this is for you. (If I sound like a used car salesman, it's because I'm just as excited as those guys on Labor Day weekend.)Please go! Stop by after shopping at the Square or picking up produce at the Independence Farmers Market, or when you drop off your artistic cousin at the surrounding galleries and your teens at Mugs Up across the street. Enjoy the great atmosphere, good coffee and nice people while you relax.

We were heading out of town for a long drive home right around opening on a Sunday. Trashes were full. Bathroom didn't have paper towels. The mocha wasn't good, but my partner liked his black coffee.

Trevor, Doug, and Jake run a great coffee shop that offers a good selection of tea and coffee. The shop is cozy and quiet so you can hang out with friends or study for school. Great atmosphere and products.
